Forgiving Her First Love (Raven's Cove Book 2)
They have a past they’d both rather forget…
When Logan Fraser arrives to save the marina she manages, Sophie Peterson is skeptical that she can count on him. She spent her childhood crushing on Logan, and they even had a brief affair when he came back to Raven’s Cove the summer she graduated high school, but he left again, breaking her heart.

His mother stuck out her difficult marriage for Logan’s sake, even when his father had yet another affair. By the time Sophie looked to Logan for happiness, he knew it was every man for himself.
Now Logan’s profligate father has died, leaving him an orphaned sister and a financial mess that demands a Herculean effort with with his estranged brothers to resolve. He needs Sophie’s help, but her priorities are her son, grandfather and sanity. Still, she needs the job, but she’ll never trust Logan again.

- If you have a pen name, can you explain how you came up with it?
I don’t have a pen name. The only time I’ve used one was for a historical erotic project I did for Entangled where I wrote short stories under Anonymous. (They’re on my website.) Other than that, I always use Dani Collins.
- What are a few things we would find in your office?
I have three calendars (one is for my horoscope) the other are 2024 and 2025 wall calendars for planning. I also have a plethora of white boards, a shelf for my author copies, and a standing desk. When we converted our son’s bedroom into my office, we replaced the window and gave me a door to the balcony so I get tons of natural light and I have a decent view of the lake. We’re not on it, but we can see bits of it through the trees. The best view is the quail family that come to have a dust bath below. They are ADORABLE.
- What motivates you to write?
I love romance and I love creating the sense of control I get from writing. The world can be a difficult place. It’s very reassuring when I am able to fix problems for imaginary people and give them a happily ever after.
- Share something about yourself no one else knows?
This isn’t really a secret, but the Raven’s Cove series is very personal to me. Both of my grandfathers and my Dad were commercial fishermen. My cousin worked in the village that Raven’s Cove is based on. His mother, my aunt, showed me pictures of her visit there, inspiring me to set a trilogy on the central coast of British Columbia.
5. Tell us about your book...
Sophie loved Logan all her life. They grew up in Raven’s Cove and even had a brief fling, but he left without her. She never forgave him for that. Now he’s back to help look after his baby sister and revitalize the marina where she works. She has her hands full with her grandfather and son. She doesn’t trust Logan will stick around so she doesn’t give him the time of day. Logan had a difficult relationship with his father—who often hurt people through selfishness. Slowly he realizes he was no better than his father and feels AWFUL.
This is a slow burn, sweet and sexy romance with a few tears, lots of laughs and a ton of heart. You don’t have to read the first book, Marrying the Nanny, but you probably will want to.
Award-winning and USA Today Bestselling author Dani Collins thrives on giving readers emotional, compelling, heart-soaring romance with laughter and heat thrown in, just like real life. While she is best known for writing contemporary romance for Harlequin Presents and Tule Publishing, she also writes historical and erotic romance. When she’s not writing—just kidding, she’s always writing. Dani lives in Southern BC, Canada with her high school sweetheart husband.
